Background:
The besieged neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city (Al-Jura,Al-Qosour and Aharabesh) have seen several incidents occurred on more than one front from the beginning of August 2017, those incidents confirm the continuous struggle of the besieged civilians due to the blockade imposed by the Islamic state group since 5 January 2015, moreover the Islamic state group still isolates Harabesh from Al-Jura and Al-Qosour neighborhoods.
The insecurity:
The theft of houses increased in the besieged neighborhoods, It was noticed that the stolen items are being sold in Al-Wadi street close to Al-Jura neighborhood, beside the reluctance by the security apparatus to investigate these cases.
Aid distribution:
The prices of foodstuffs were stable between 1 and 8 August 2017, the distribution of Aid stopped on 5 August and started again on 6 and 7 of the same month, the food basket contained (Sugar 5Kg,lentil 7Kg and Salt 1Kg), the free distribution of bread continued by the Red Crescent over the period time of the report.
The insect and rodent infestation was noted in the besieged neighborhoods, Based on some testimonies The Department of Agriculture in Deir Ezzor distributed rodenticides through the city council,Mosques and mobile teams, the rodenticides are being delivered by the military helicopters.
The displacement from the besieged neighborhoods:
A family which just got out of the besieged neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor confirmed that they got out by the military helicopter without paying any amount of money to the security apparatus, the just registered at the office of the office commander and waited for their turn, confirming that all the medical cases are being approved.
The mortar shelling:
The Islamic state still targeting the besieged neighborhoods with mortar shells which led to several casualties and injuries among civilians, In addition to Intermittent clashes between the Islamic state and the regime forces during the period from 1 to 8 August, as some progress has been made by the regime forces.
The Islamic state group targeted several positions in the first week of August as follows:
On Wednesday, 2 August the Islamic state targeted the main street in Al-Jura neighborhood with 4 mortar shells at 4 pm causing the death of a civilian and 10 other injured.
On Saturday, 5 August the Islamic state group bombed the Avenue of Al-Sahaba mosque in Al-Wadi street close to Al-Jura neighborhood with 7 mortar shells at 5 pm and that led to death of two civilians.
On Sunday, 6 August two mortar shells fell on Al-Qosour neighborhood at sunset.
The conscripting:
The Syrian security apparatus continued to pursue the wanted men for conscripting and reserve duty, the increasing proceedings were noticed on the dates of 1 and 2 of August.
