The battles still continuing between the Syrian government forces and the elements of the Islamic state in Deir Ezzor, The Islamic state launched this campaign on 13 January 2017.
The reporter of the JFL said : ” Four Fighter jets targeting the neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor under the domination of the slamic state daily, from 2 am to 12 pm at a rate of one Raid every 15 minutes “.
The reporter added :” Those Fighter jets targeting anything that moves and any light, Civilians Can’t go out of their homes or move during that time of the day even if there were casualties or injured people, It is too difficult to help them, As the artillery of the government forces is bombing Different parts of the city in the rest of the day .
The reporter explained that this brutal bombardment has forced the Civilians to leave the city and move to the countryside of Deir Ezzor besides the lack of food.
On the other hand the Islamic state still bombing the neighborhoods under the control of the government forces .
In the humanitarian context: the World Food Programme performed two airdrops of humanitarian aid on the besieged neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor after it got suspended on 15 January 2017 because of the ongoing battles nearby the besieged neighborhoods.
The JFL has documented since 13 to 30 January 2017 the death of 34 civilian including 12 women and 3 children due to the Aerial and artillery bombardment by the government forces and its Allies on the Islamic state-held neighborhoods and countryside of Deir Ezzor, the JFL also documented 19 civilian victims including 5 women and 7 children due to the bombardment by the Islamic state on the besieged neighborhoods which are under the domination of the government forces.
